Rem's Engine + Overriding Audio
Rem’s Studio
Rem’s Studio, starting with version 1.6 (not published yet), will be able to override audio of videos. Sounds like a small deal, right?
NOO!, that’s big: you now can drag any video into Rem’s Studio, quickly adjust the loudness/amplitude, and press export, and now your video will have the corrected, better loudness.
“But then I have to re-encode, right? That takes hours!” No, wrong! Rem’s Studio can use the existing video data, and just switch out the audio data. In my test case, I had a speedup of ~ 20x compared to real time, so a video of 20 min length, will just take one minute to adjust.
Quality of life
In the background, I am also continuously improving your experience with Rem’s Studio. For example, when the engine is minimized, it will no longer render the UI, and when the render process is finished, it will request your attention by slowly blinking in the windows task bar.
Rem’s Engine
Also behind the scenes, I am working on my game engine, Rem’s Engine, based on Rem’s Studios base engine. The entity-component-prefab system is quite complex, and I want it to be a good engine, so the release of it surely will take a few more weeks or months. The engine currently is developed in the same repository of Rem’s Studio. I might split the two, when the engine is ready, and maybe it could be used as the base engine for Rem’s Studio as well (turning the design upside down).
